Aside from the musical ensambles in which Sebastián Cruz is involved, he works as music composer for different mediums like short film, theatre and documentary. His musicalization of Javier Gutierrez' lyrics for a tribute to Bertold Brecht won him an ASCAP award in 2002. He also wrote the end-credits music for Holly Page Joyner's documentary for Sundance Channel "Pack, Strap, Swallow."
