How we made the CD

This debut CD was recorded by Ernesto Santos, plastik 5 studios, using a laptop with pro-tools and two condenser microphones. This means that two hand bags and two microphone stands constituted the totallity of the recording studio. The drums were recorded at Chris's house, some basses at Jim's house, the acoustic pianos at a music room in The City College of New York, and the rest at either Ernesto's home or Sebastian's; as home-made as it gets. The CD was put together during the course of a year within the small windows of free time that the people involved had. So Coba's CD was primarily funded by good-will. CD's with the instrument tracks for "Piedras trae," "El resplandor," and "Estática" were sent to Bogotá-Colombia to have the vocal tracks added. The Bogotá vocal sessions were recorded by Julián Silva, Rodrigo Mancera, Santiago Roa and Jairo Guarnizo; and sung by Jimena Angel and Johanna Marín.
